Thursday Night Cometh....

It's Wed. Do you know where your lights are? Are they charging? Things are coming together nicely for the big night ride on Thursday. From what I hear, the UC crowd might be bringing their top brass.

Hugo from Hugo's Shoe Repair in Orem is working on the Champions Belt. Final touches will be added by my 4 yr old.

(Update: Just picked up the belt from Hugo...now my 4 yr old gets to go to work on it.
)

The number plates have been created (by hand). If you want your lucky number speak up now otherwise, you'll get what you get.

The prizes are boxed up and ready to be raffled. (If any of you out there have something you want to donate, let me know.)

Now we just the need the trails to dry out.

If you get out today or tomorrow in CC, please post a comment with a trail report. Also, if anyone has a good GPS of the Clarks/Jacobs/Ghost loop, please send my way.

How this will work:

We will meet at the EQ in Draper ready to ride at 9pm
  • $5 gets you a number plate (I'll provide the plates and zip ties)
  • Prizes will be awarded based on a random drawing of your number plate
  • Fastest rider over the entire loop (up & down) will get the cash purse (and it will be a purse. Most likely a princess purse). So if you are slow on the climb but have mad skills on the down, this route should be fair for you.
  • In addition to the cash, the winner will also get a champion belt
Post ride breakfast at Denny's or Village Inn (bring some cash)

Hope to see you there.

Gotta have a prize for the last person to finish. I'm not paying $5.00 for nothing!

This Thursday only? I have tons of stuff to donate for the raffle...

Bart, hope you're coming so I have a good reason to form the grupetto right from the opening bell.

As for number plates, I want pi. 3.14 is close enough, or you can write the Greek letter. But I think pi plate is fitting.

TP- We'll have a "DFL" prize

Bart- We'll see how this goes. If we get a good turn out and people like it, we can keep the series going. Probably roatate between Utah County and Draper. If you come, feel free to donate whatever you can to the raffle. Thanks!

Mark- You got it. 3.14

The climb up to Jacobs was muddy yesterday. We walked the last stretch of climbing in the trees.

Jamie- Way ahead of you. I had that number reserved for you from the beginning.

Eric/Jeff- Hmmm. Let's hope the sun stays out today. Thanks for the report.

I would love to make it but am nursing some injury/illness that would not respond well to late night hammering/early breakfast. I hope it happens again.

Bart- No worries. We all just moved up a spot in the overall standings. I hope you recover soon. We'll try and make this happen again.

Racers delivered my new bike just in time. Tonights "ride" will be my first ever on a ss. Should be interesting.

Dusted off my old light, charged the battery, and strapped it too the bike (couldn't find the clip).

Also, carb loaded this morning with a dunford chocolate donut.

I think I'm ready. Will the winner accept quarters?

I need all the luck I can get. I'll take number 13!

Rick Sunderlage said...

Clark- Nice way to break in the new bike.

Jason- Lucky number 13 is yours. But it requires you to fill out a waiver. Bad things can happen with that plate on your bike.

23 unless you already picked out a number for me.

Rick Sunderlage said...

Brandon- 23 is yours. Are you a MJ fan?

I would like #9 and if you could give #6 to the fastest guy coming that would be great. Don't ask questions...just do it.

ran Rush > North Ghost > Canyon Hollow > Brocks this morning. Rush is mostly a mess with lots of mud, standing water, and a few really large trees down along the way.

Came across a few riders who had just finished Clark's and they all said it was a mess and recommended I not head that way.

Canyon Hollow is dry except at the very top where there is a 10 foot section of mud and a a pool of standing water.

Have a great ride, I have no lights, no riding legs from running all blasted spring, and no desire to find out what the prize for DFL will be. Maybe I'll come be the bikini girl at the starting line waving my sash.
